Thomas - 88 --------- VanSickle - ### --------- Sicken - ### |
This was our first trip to this
campground. The sites were extremely small, and the Sickens decided not to use their pre-paid spot and to ask the office for a larger site.
They would not have fit in their original site. They then were moved to a site across the street and 2 down from us. Each site did have
grass, and the hookups were not in convenient spots. For example, Maria and Kevin had to run their water and electric from in front of their
camper to the rear! The sites were so small, that when we opened our awning, we were only about 3 feet from Maria's camper! The camp has an
indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi, and a game room (of which none of the arcade games worked). They did have a very large playground area.
Their proximity to town is a great point. Jeani, Amy and Josh rode their bikes to town the first night in camp and it only took about 5 minutes!
The Thomas' rode to the park at the end of the street to watch the fireworks on July 3rd. When the Thomas' were deciding if they were going to
stay with the truck at the River Place shopping center or go back to camp and then ride bikes back to the open field, Ellie suggested they stay
and play Gus Gus Goose!! We also went to the Bavarian Inn for dinner one night.
The camp is right across the street from Bronner's Christmas Wonderland. We shopped there after we left camp on Sunday.
We also went on the Frankenmuth Adventure Ropes Course, and all but Maria did it! Even Matt! We all had a great time and Josh was super sore
right after. The guys golfed at The Timbers with Amy and Jeani on July 3rd. It took almost 3 1/2 hours to golf 9 holes due to the Old Farts in
front of us. Nice course, but it could have been a better experience. The guys then golfed with Jake and Kevin at The Fortress on July 4th.
Beautiful course, and hardly anyone on it!! Kevin and Jake did really good and everyone had a great time! Overall, a really nice weekend, and
we would like to go back. |
